Hopefully, government is not dictating too many people's job choices there is a word for that when it is..communism. Find a career that is not dependent on the government, I assure you, this will make you happier as you have a skill that people actually need.

that some will eventually regret (from a career standpoint) ever voting for Ronald Reagan who arguably did more to destroy your job security in any corporation than any other person in American history. He gave you the tax cut (for the bigwigs, not you) mindset that put downsizing and out-sourcing in the American lexicon for 30 years. He gave you a revived "doctrine" of employment-at-will on steroids. ("Doctrine", by the way, is a legal crock you can't actually vote on.)

He gave you Sandra Day O'Connor who was the swing vote in Bush v. Gore that appointed a president you did not elect. Bush gave you John Roberts and Sam Alito who have already swung several key Supreme Court decisions against you---and will be swinging many more against you for years to come.

Yeah, politics matter. And you were duped beyond your wildest imagination.
