5 Lame but Common Interview Responses

I've often used performance review/appraisal feedback that I've recieved in the past as a basis for describing any weaknessess. If you have or ever had a good boss/supervisor it is their job to point out an area that could be developed/improved and follow up that feedback with how you can improve in a particular area. This can help you describe the weakness and present a plan for how you can overccome it in your interviews. No one is perfect and if you'e ever had a review that implies you are it is not good feedback. Everyone can improve with something... Just a suggestion when your looking for something to say.

I think employers are interested in how you deal with your (job-related) weakness.. such as, are you studying to learn more about this topic to keep up, do you seek help with it from co-workers when they have time (and then in turn help them using your strengths)? I think it's more how you turn the weakness around to something not a weakness. And, be specific.

I seriously doubt the employer cares about non-job-related weaknesses. I wouldn't mention those.

You can name something you do not have much experience in that would not disqualify you from the job, say learning a new language. Then follow with a positive spin how you work around this handicap (thus, is it really a weakness if it doesn't hinder you from succeeding). There are more answers if you search "good answer to what is your weakness." Hope this helps!

Ditto Secretary Sherry of NY!! This question stumps me too... Heck I could go on & on about my weaknesses. Heck, I'm unemployed and my confidence is low! What are acceptable (desirable?) (inconsequential?) weaknesses as interview responses? Please help!

... I have seen so many job-seeking guides that recommend one or more of these responses (particularly #s 1 and 4), but I've always resisted using them because they just seem so ridiculously transparent. It's so refreshing to read some career advice that actually makes sense!

What are some good ways to answer the "What is your greatest weakness?" question? This question always stumps me....
