I remember there was a position as a supervisor in my department, and my boss mention it to me because she wanted me to take the position cause she said I qualified and that I was responsible. I was very proud of myself and at the same time happy for the new challenge. After a couple of month pass by, everything change, her behavior was different, she was bitter and very demanding with us, which I understood cause of a lot of stress and responsibility the department have specially being the boss. It was a surprise for me when she did my yearly review, I mention her about the position, and she came with the conclusion that I wasn't good because I was "moody", I was like what? moody??? I shockingly I answer her saying that I thought the qualifications for the position was been resposible, hard worker, organized, punctual, team leader, except moody. I also told her that I don't consider myself "moody" that just because I take my job seriously and dont chat all the time, doesn't make me moody person, at that moment her face change, and she tried to change the subject, saying nice things about me. She knew she messed up. After that day, I see her differently, not because i didnt get the position, but I think been a "director" she should of gave me another excuse rather than those silly stupid excuse. Moreover, my boss told new employee that I was training, that I am moody and that I wasnt going to trained her anymore, when it was all her idea in the first place...I think that is very unprofessional and unethical from her making those comments to her employees about me. Should I do something about it?? :) any suggestions are welcome!!

Coercion into retirement You think that,s bad. Read the "Lucifer Effect by Philip

Zimbardo Administrative Obedience to Authority page 278 279. Go the the end of the book and look up all of the materials on administrative abuses and how "down and dirty" "Milgram influences"these play out in the administrative process there are a lot research material in every country The Dutch have done a lot of research on how these influences play out. How can we talk about the "No Fear act performance or Civil Rights with abuses like that.

Boss writes me up for many untrue things that I don't do like walking up to people and deliberately coughing in their face, parking money into porn- done even do the stuff much less investing in it. writes things like haven't taken a bath in months when I take (2) baths a day. Writes up that I she constantly counsels me on these things and she has never counseled me one time. Suggests that I use drugs drink etc. Don't do that either.

You need to bring this to the attention of federal government managers.

Our former boss always yelled at everyone and would tell us there is no "I" in teamwork. So everyone started mentioning with any screw ups, "The team did it". We always use to paraphrase "No I in teamwork, yeah no I in F*U either".

He also always pushed "There's a light at the end of the tunnel for this project". We privately mention "It's the train coming through..." :)

Last manager told me he pays my salary and I should really quit and find other employment since I'm just over 60. (Can you say "Age discrimination"?)

After 45 years at our company and being in the stock plan, stock splits, buying extra stock, etc, I make way more in dividends than they pay me in salary and hold about 2% of the company's stock. I also do special projects and interview almost everyone that is hired in our 300 person company. I simply went down to the HR, discussed it with the HR manager and then back to work. He thanked me for bringing to their attention and asked if I was going to be at the stockholders meeting next week. 3 months later my manager was fired for inappropriate remarks to female employees. It was also brought up that the CEO and board did not like they way he treated one of the majority stockholders, even if that stockholder is an employee. I didn't mention it to our CEO/board, but HR must have as a possible problem. Anyway I was planning on retiring in a couple of years since I've been working since age 15.

Where my wife works for $8 part time, no one gets a raise, etc, because there's no money in the budget and other various excuses. Yet the company dog, (yes--company dog!) went to training school ($3,500) in Vegas with the managers which was wasted since it the dog never listens anyway and even got a custom company logo doggy sweater ($175). The two managers even have company logo sweaters at $175 a pop. Oh, and there's a really nice patio set and outdoor grill.

Corporate is in Calif, we're in Ohio....

The two managers can't seem to understand why the employees don't believe anything they say. Duh.
