FIRST MY NEW BOSS TELLS ME NO MORE OVERTIME,ONLY 8 HRS A DAY AFTER WORKING 9 HOURS A DAY FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS.I ASK HIM WHY AND HE SAID UPPER MANAGEMENT SAID SO. I ASK HIM FOR A NAME AND THEN THE TRUTH CAME OUT HE SAID HE COULDNT SEE ME GETTING OVERTIME ANYMORE. HE IS JUST TRYING TO MAKE HIMSELF LOOK BETTER AND MOVE UP THE COMPANY LADDER

My boss told me in a review we recently had that I should show her respect because of her position! I said respect is a two way street and I was brought up that if you want RESPECT you must earn it. (Don't think for one moment your title gives you instant privileges.) If you treat people unkindly and disrespectful, you will receive the same.

I say go ARETHA! and sock it to her!!!!

Does anyone else hear their boss threaten "I don' know if I'll be able to pay you this week?" Then Friday afternoon comes and goes and he still hasn't signed the payroll and then leaves to do some errands all the while saying he doesn't have time to look over the numbers to see if there is enough to cover the checks.

How about "you do a great job here and nobody can replace you but everyone hates you." Turns out, nobody hated me but my boss!

My female boss said, "Men are often promoted without deserving those promotions." I was up for a promotion, but didn't get it. I also moved on.

Here's number eight: "No, that can't possibly be right!" News flash: corporate executives are not immune to this (and the other examples) from higher-ups and, sometimes, employees CAN be right (and, sometimes, even if it's counterintuitive) and, especially, when what is being called into question is based on internal or external politics or personal bias instead of business related facts, reason, and logic.

It's not always what your boss says, but sometimes the actions. While I work away doing the lists of things that have been added to my responsibilities my boss sits on the computer surfing the web. He usually is watching movie trailers, sports clips etc. He doesn't realize that I can see him through a reflection behind him. When ever I walk toward his area for anything it is so funny to watch him switch over to another screen of "work stuff". What a joke! I wish the owners would catch on! I'm sure I would be out of a job if I sat for hours (no exaggeration) surfing the web on company time.

"I don't wanna hear about it" or how 'bout using profanity! Dropping the "f" bomb or s..t or "damn it" behind his cubicle yet about 20 people can actually hear him. Not cool.
