Great additions, Thea. Doing something with it and then letting that person know what came of it is definitely an important (and oft-overlooked) part of keeping the well filled so you can keep going back to it.

Great advice!

The 4th step is obvious: Follow up on the person's advice in some way (even if you disagree with some of it).

The 5th step is often forgotten: Report back to the person on how you took their advice and what you gained from it. Skip this step and this person "dries up" as a source of future advice or leads. Reporting back builds the relationship.
