Pretty interesting article... Quite liked the points about smile, brag sheet and the resume. A great article worth reading!

Lindsey, this is very sound advice. I'm sure someone else will agree with me.

Thank you,

I'm a staff nurse- never really been in charge, etc. What are they looking for when they question your leadership skills

Overly simplistic and not new or different advice than what has been said for years.

Great advice on being prepared and treating it like a regular interview. The more information I had, the easier each phone interview became. The STAR strategy is great as well: the interviewer usually asks for 1-2 examples of successful experiences; this makes it easy to respond without sounding inept.

A S.T.A.R. document (Situation, Task, Action, Results is a great way to shine with your accolades without sounding boastful. Marc Candella (Ladders.com) illustrated this in a recent news latter to me. I took his advice and chose three companys I worked for and dug in the memories to find great examples of how I made a great deal of difference for my clients. I made the company shine, created long-term close relations with the company and me, and built networking to other prospects from those happy clients of mine. Keep three S.T.A.R. examples with you when you take your interview phone call since you can't be sure which would be the best to use, so be prepared!

Good advise, and don't talk too much (ramble on).
