Refernces are only supposed to be given out only in person at the interview. Professional ones at that. And ask the person first,if it is okay to give their name and address and phone number for a reference. The personel references, the same rule goes for them.

We had someone drop a string of contents on my company's site recently that used nearly identical language. We were all scratching our heads, as the pieces in question had been professionally edited and copy-edited.

Stephanie, I dearly hope you're not referring to AAM. You, for example, seem not even able to use pronouns in your sentences. Furthermore, even if you did find a grammar or spelling mistake in this post - and I believe you have not - the bottom line is that this is still well written, completely coherent, and organized. She communicates perfectly well in her first language (assuming that it is, in fact, her first). What are you complaining about?

Cannot accept career advice from someone who doesn't communicate correctly in their own language. Continue to see the lack of language competency in American journalism today; non-American journalists sometimes communicate incorrectly in English too, but at least it's not in their first language. Mind-boggling- a first and second proofreading used to be mandatory before something went to print/issue. Then software programmers gave us auto grammar and spelling checkers, so easy to use. Many thanks to employers out there who still require spelling and grammar tests of job applicants.
