Signs You’re About to Get Fired

Two weeks after I launched a successful and profitable program for a non-profit I worked for, I saw every one of these signs directed at me. I hadn't been on the job long, so it was totally unexpected. Until that time all I ever got was praise, written and verbal, from my boss.

Thinking I was overtired, I decided to ask my colleagues about my concerns. They all laughed. ' You're paranoid. What would she do without you? She's like that, moves from person-to-person and picks on them. You're too new to have seen it happen to the rest of us." they said. Whew, I thought.

By the end of the week, the vindictive boss fired me. I went to a lawyer, but there was nothing to be done about it. The lawyer thought the boss hired me to develop the program, with the idea to fire me to save the salary.

So if you do a poor job, this article presents excellent warning points. And if you do a very good job, the same thing can apply.

It's a rough employment world out there. I think the recession of 2008 empowered these kinds of tactics, and they've yet to wear off.
