Hi Curt,

R&D - that is the key to life I think sometimes.. what a great way of looking at the future.. I like the term for any transition in life, expecially when trying to move from a static 9-5 job to a more flexible working style..

you still have to ask those questions...

.....30 years ago when I launched myself into the madness of corporate life? I've only recently discovered that I should have either been self-employed, or a Forest Ranger..... (I chose self-employed)....great wisdoms Curt!

Thanks Dhruv. I'm glad it hit the mark for you. It can be hard to get beyond the pull of that immediate gratification (we live in an immediate gratification culture, after all), but in the long run you'll be glad you did. It sometimes helps to back up and take a 30,000 foot view, looking down at your career over the course of the next 20 years. When you see the big picture, the pull of that immediate gratification is typically smaller.

Being a fresh intern, this makes complete sense to me. Though i do not feel that it will yeild immediate results, in the long run, it will bring a sense of satisfaction.
