I work with a woman, who for the past year asks me the same question(s) everyday !!! It's been over a year and every morning she'll ask me - " is it ok if I get a coffee ? Are u sure it's ok.?? " I respond the same way, everyone - " YES. Go ahead ! " I thought I found a solution by telling her if u see my car in the parking lot in the morning. Just go ahead and walk over to the coffee shop across the street from the office Knowing that I'm in the office that early ensures that any phone calls will be answered. But nope she comes in everyday to ask me the same question. Even when I relieve her for lunch she asks me if its ok uf she can check her email on my computer. Once again I tell her I'm cool with it. It's her lunch break & she's free to do whatever. But she also feels the need to get permission. After a year of these redundant questions. It feels like a Chinese torture. And don't get me started in her not giving me my phone messages - while I'm sitting @ my desk !?

Do the actions of these people considered as harassment? professional harassment? I have a junior who is just typical annoying. He wants me to talk to him daily, if I don't he gets angry. He goes around telling people I hate him because I don't talk to him daily. He messaged me at 12am asking me to explain to him about a journal. The moment I lay my foot into the lab office, he barged at me asking me to explain to him about the journal. Whenever he notices that I am very into my work and busy, he will disrupt me just to ask stupid questions, like what is this and what is that, in fact he could just google or find out the answer by himself. He just likes to talk, whenever he finds a victim, he would pester him all day long talking and talking and just expect that person to listen to him. I am starting to think that he suffers from ADHD or anxiety, and his presence is beginning to affect my work, till I have to start working from evening till morning just to avoid being harassed by him, but this cannot go on for the long run. Kindly advise, is this an academic harassment or just my poor social interactive skills.

There should be a category called "the suck-up" or something similar. They're actually a magnified version of "the slacker", because not only do they slack off and the boss not notice it, but then when they actually do do their work, they get praised and coddled like a child being told they did "such a good job" when they really do not do much of anything. It's somewhat grating on my nerves to say the least.

She sits at her desk everyday with a cheesecake grin and makes obnoxious comments about her baby's daddies. She sings at her desk and has this annoying little chimpanzee doll that makes loud noises and goes beserk every time someone touches it or walks past it. She seems not to have a care in the world, and her carelessness is truly annoying. Her intelligence is below average, and while she is good at her job, her job is obviously the only thing in her life that she is actually good at. She comments about her life in the hood and the fact that she is on government assistance, and discusses these topics as if she is proud of them. She is quite boisterous and does not hesitate to share her opinions or poke fun at the activities of her co-workers. For quiet, mature, and reserved people, she does not make a good neighbor. She is not very mature, and she brings down the morale of the team in general.
