Most of this is all common sense--it is a joke. Basically what it is saying that it doesn't matter how hard you work, or what degree you have....this "networking thing" a great concept, but as a private person I don't have a facebook, to me networking is in person...not all virtual. What has this country, this world turned into...it is either use or get used...what a nightmare....then pathetic articles come out like this that have the pretense of having legitimate information. Let's face it...in life some people just have it, and some people just don't...know matter what a good hardworking individual you are. I truly wish good luck to all out there...because in the end, we can only save ourselves.

"If you've been selling washing machines door-to-door for the past five years and the target job is running a cash register at a busy grocery store, unless you can show you have been managing cash registers in your free time, don't expect a call. Search for positions seeking someone just like you to help avoid being frustrated."

This is good advice for job seekers out there. As a staffing firm, we are constantly posting job openings on job boards and do not get a chance to look at them all, especially if they are not a close or exact match. A great way to give yourself some leverage is to network. LinkedIn is a powerful social networking tool these days, that has the same effect as attending a networking event. Join groups, contribute to discussions, and have a mutual acquaintance introduce you to new people. That way, you will be remembered for your talent, and not your electronic resume submission. http://www.snellingnj.com
