I was suckered into taking a job I didn't even interview for and after 5 months I'm totally struggling at it, having been totally inadequately trained. I am now ignored by everyone at work because my work quality apparently sucks, not through fault of my own. I was forced to relocate across the country on my own dime for this job, and had I known this I never would've taken it, even at the risk of losing unemployment insurance. I am looking for another job that actually fits my skill set, 4 other people left this job before me and I didn't even know that. Anyone in a situation similar to this? Name withheld.

i really have this problem right on my hand. As what u said, my boss have asked me go inside the meeting room to talk to me about my performance rating. As they said were give me 3 month probation period. After that if i still not change they were called human resource to step in. What should i do.

As they said my communication with Internal customer is not good and external customer also. They said my voice is too loud. But how can i tone down my voice. When my side got a guy who always pickpoint on me and always spot my mistake and purposely said out loudly my mistake.

As i also think of changing job, but right now i don't have a skills in my hands. As i also don't have higher qualification level. Only up to Secondary School Level. So damm hard to find job.

So can any kind soul out there can tell me what should i do.

I never did have this problem at work, but here are my solutions. We could reason things out with our immediate superior about improvements and innovations at work, so as things would get better. If that doesn't work, bring it up to the next level of management. If that doesn't work than you already knew that you are in the right and just re plan you next employment. Take it as a new challenge. That is all.

"Struggling" at work could mean so many things and here it is isolated to just a first "strike" warning stuck in an employee file. Very misleading title for this article. A person could struggle for many many reasons. The least you could do is break it into scenarios where management is blind, or employee was promised a promotion and didn't get it at the last second & now has a morale problem...there's a struggle. What about office politics (lies, games)- classic struggle. Sorry but this article was really lacking. Someone who actually works in an office and is seasoned needs to be proofing these.

If you are having this talk at work, you should immediately start looking for another job.

These sorts of manager/employee meetings are set up for one reason only--and that's to establish a paper trail to grease your way out the door at a future date.

Make no mistake--your days at that firm are numbered from that moment onward.

I've been trying to hire using different techniques, but I can't seem to get it right. People come through the door, and walk out in a short while. I've tried salary raises, better infrastructure, different management approaches, but I can't seem to find people who "get it". Anyone here have any ideas on how I can find my people?

Why is this all about the employee? The employee is NOT always the one at fault.

If you're manager, bear in mind that at least 50% of your manager-employee meeting time should be discussing what YOU, as a MANAGER, can do to improve.
