8 New Year's Resolutions for Your Career

I have spent the last year trying to work out why my boss suddenly seems to hate me... I've asked her if i've done something wrong..no! Is there a problem at home..no! I've actually avoided her for the last few months. She snaps at everyone so I dont think it's me.

I usually love my job yet she makes it hard to work and also avoids giving me work. So I spend time with nothing to do and i am not the type to just sit around doing nothing.. i'll find something to do when I have nothing..

I spoke to the new overall boss before the year was out about it and he has sorted the jobs part but was unable to sort the mood thing with her..

I am starting work again next week and dont really look forward to dealing with her mood again.

BTW we have worked together for 5 years and 4 of those were fantastic with a really good relationship.. her mood went downhill after she was supplied with a new boss.

Hopefully this year will be better.

I might add, find out what company objectives are and what makes your manager look good - making your (sane) manager look good should be a priority - they will really appreciate you and they too will be appreciated

I feel like I should print this out and tape it to my monitor so I see it every time I sit down to work. Thanks!

These are really, really great resolutions. I've been doing some of these things without realizing them, but I'll be more purposeful in the future.

Happy 2012!
