Great perspective on an important topic. My view is that your final point about sense of purpose is the secret ingredient (maybe even the secret weapon) in being resilient in challenging circumstances! Thanks for a stimulating post!

Great post, Amy. Am passing on to my wife, friends, & colleagues! It's a simple metaphor for helping us think about the "unconscious ingredients" we add to our day-to-day lives.

Simply stated and covers all the bases around stress (including the first recipe!) We do have control over the six factors, and if we can just shift focus there we can make a difference in our own, and therefore others' lives. If we all just practiced these for one week....imagine what a different place our world would be!

Great blog, Amy! So often I found myself wrapped up in the past and future, but neglected the present. Thank you sharing your helpful tips!

For me, reliving the past “was” a significant energy vampire in my life. My professional life consisted of rethinking my decisions and critiquing presentations…I’d lose sleep over it all. Not healthy! I wise woman recently taught me how to calm down (breathe) and as you state in your blog, re-shift or re-frame my view. It takes discipline but IS possible. Amy, thank you for providing these tips, they keep me motivated!

Cool Beans, Thanks Amy.

At least for me the most difficult element is not becoming attached to the outcome! Normally, even if you can detach most of the others you work with are fixated on the outcome. The article and tips are fantastic and clearly we all need to keep things in perspective.
