@ J Milliscone - Last time I checked, the internet was open 24 hours a day.

So she post this during work hours, targeted towards people who are employed, than says don't go online to do non work activities.

Oh the irony

Re: The post below about being online at work. The article states that it's false to think, "playing online doesn't affect your work," which I believe to be accurate. I think everyone can agree that frequenting non-work websites while at work hinders your productivity. It also says, "spending a lot of work time online will create the appearance that you're not working hard," emphasis on A LOT.

It is the 21st century and most people do deviate from their work to browse the Internet from time to time, but there is no denying that it does in fact affect your work. And if you tend to browse the Internet TOO much, you do look like you're not working hard.

The Internet to me is a distraction, as I remember the introduction to Facebook while I was in college...I spent a good amount of my research/writing time getting lost in the WWW! :) Just being honest.

I think the comments re: being online is bull! Nearly EVERYONE does it, including the bosses! The prigs who write against it are probably doing it too. Face it. This is the 21st Century. People are going to be online at work, and if that's a fireable offense, then nearly everyone from the President of US on down will lose their jobs LOL
