What are the laws governing employer driven charitble contributions? Is is legal for an employer to require the employe to sign a statement saying that the 'decline' to contribute? Anybody know of any laws or guidance in this area?

I had a CEO who thinks all employees love social events. He thought it made up for crappy work environment - NOT! I even had one employee seriously threaten to quit rather than participate. No matter how I tried to make the CEO understand, he refused to believe me, calling me 'The Fun Police'.

#6 is currently driving me up the wall. The confusion over who is in charge of my current project means some people are delivering content to my manager instead of myself and she is absolutely TERRIBLE about passing it on, to the point where I'm beginning to wonder if she's just rooting for me to fail.

Sounds like Kevin has a separate work cellphone/BlackBerry. If that were my situation, I'd leave it at home too... but it's not as though my employer doesn't know my cell number!

^ That's silly, Kevin. There are plenty of fun things you can do on vacation with your phone that have nothing to do with work. Just don't answer any calls you get from your boss, or with a certain area code.

So what do you do if your boss does most of these things? Especially 5, 6 & 7! Well, 7 is a little sketchy. He doesn't really hint, he is just very cryptic about what he wants. He's not a very good communicator, but he expects us to know what to do based on his unclear direction. I find myself going back to him over and over to get clarification on a project. Unforturnately, I'm always wrong.
