Your stories were very much taken to hart and the passing of Farley and the aging of elder members of the family, the changes inlife styles, resonated with me, a few tears shed, but more sympathy and laughs as the children grew. Yes, the recent series have been very confusing and the drawing style changed dramatically from week to week, but that is becuase I was unfamiliar with your earlier drawing style.

Congratulatios on your achievements and teh achievements of your comic family. I imagine the emotional energy is not in family comics now, as it was in earlier times. I would like to see another book covering the episodes of grandparents since I was relating to that aspect of the story since I will have to face decision in my life in the near future.

I honor the choice of the Washington Post to not carry the new stories. You will be missed and I guess I can catch up using the eletronic edition or Comics on-line.

Thank you for your work and most of all you and your creative talents.

this story line is a real part of me an dmy life. I have had many part os her story actually travel along with parts of my life, I can not imagine not having this to read every day. And loke others, I was hoping to see the family grow up and go on the journey with them

I belong to a group of 4 women who meet each Friday.  We are all avid readers of For Better or Worse, and feel let down that the comic strip will not move forward with the lives of the characters who have become so dear to us.  We want to know more about the Patterson family and their friends.  None of us is interested in reading the reruns, even if they are "redone." We feel let down, but realize that Lynn has to move on in her own fashion.Kudos to Lynn Johnston for keeping us entertained for so many years.  We wish her the best. We were so sorry to hear about the end of her marriage.

I am going to miss the continuing saga of the Pattersons. It has been my favorite comic strip. Like others, I don't understand why it's better to rerun than keep up the story line. However, I have enjoyed it all these years, but see no need to continue reading it everyday. Thanks to Lynn Johnston for the years she put in.

First of all, I am saddened to read that Lynn Johnston has gotten a divorce. C'est La Vie. I, too, look for her strip as soon as I turn to the comic page. I've watched her family grow as I've watched my own grow and develop. I feel that I've lost a friend. I WANT HER COLUMN BACK IN MY PAPER. Lynn I miss you and your family.

When I saw the one comic I ever read, "For Better or Worse" this past Sunday, I got worse because it looked like it was the last one. But upon reading it I was better knowing Ms. Johnston wasn't ending the lives of the Pattersons. I truly enjoyed seeing the real type of life events they too endured.

I laughed, cried, and understood. Job well done!

My Kudo as well to Ms. Johnston!

I look forward to re-reading the situations and re-visiting the youngsters and John and Elly. Even more, I look forward to the new ones.

How about if she writes a book or a book of cartoons. Take that cruise. But take time out to write also. Maybe a book could be done over time as opposed to a daily strip. I will deeply miss the Patterson family. I want to see the next generation grow and follow their dreams. April as a veterinarian, Michel, Dee, Robin and Meredith, Elizabeth and her new hubby and their life together. They have become a part of my life every morning. Lynn must have kids and grandkids to think up the mischief they get into. Please, please reconsider and keep up the cartoon or the hope of a book in the future and let us see the family grow.

OMG! No! NO! NO! I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the comics on Sunday. I cut out FBOFW and think I will have a little memorial service! I am very sad to see this strip end.

The storyline kept me always wanting to see what was next and all the characters were so vividly portrayed, that I felt they were real. There will be a big void for me when reading the paper now. I agree with the others who do not want to go back in time. Thomas Wolfe said "you can never go home again" and he's right...it is never the same.

I am hoping, Lynn, that you will get enough fan mail to encourage you to keep going, but I respect your decision. I, myself, retired one year ago (on Sunday!) and I look forward to all the new things that will keep coming up for me...but some things you don't want to leave behind. This is one of them. Thanks for all the terrific memories, laughs and tender feelings. Nicely done, Lynn! God Bless You!

I can't imagine anyone not liking this strip. I feel I've grown up right along with Michael and Liz and was looking forward to seeing Liz and Anthony's life together and what April will end up doing. Also the parents will finally get to enjoy their retirement. What a shame we won't have that to look forward to.
