Ronnin-

I don't mind that you are proud and you want what you believe you earned. But your deal was with General Motors, not the people of the United States. At least your pension account is mostly funded with real cash years ago. As General Motors goes, so goes your retirement. Just talk to Saturn folks who lost nearly all. Or Delata Airlines. The US citizens are on the hook for a huge debt caused by the same attitude as yours. The Social Security system was robbed years ago by idiot politicians trying to appease people like you with money they took from me. And I am quite tired of it so don't look for sympathy here.

All I have to say as a former GM hourly worker for 32 years is a line from Jack Nicholson in the movie "a few good men" I EARNED IT! for the pension and benefits I receive. All the right wing anti union toadies in Washington and on FAUX NEWS can rot in Hell!

Hi guys. Music is essentially useless, as life is.

I am from Mozambique and also am speaking English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "With asda travel, it is all about choice at superb value prices."

Best regards :o, Sumi.

Both Toyota and Gm are global competitors. The difference is that Toyota like the rest of these foreign transplants are foreign government subsidized on a huge silent scale.GM lost more money due to hefty ongoing decades long losses in Europe not just in the U.S.and elsewhere.Beyond that their management is the only entity authorized in making product and marketing decisions....something the UAW has absolutely nothing to do with or control over.It is not the fault of the UAW that management makes bad product and/or engineering decisions or mis-markets it's products.A habit that fails to get honorable mention everytime analysts and others complain about the unions. These complaints are consistently misplaced. In the future this industry will only get more difficult as markets get ever more saturated with appliance like products and then no one will benefit...A Proud 30 Year UAW Member

I am shocked, at the post's on this thread, all seem to say down with the salaried worker's,all hourly desrve and worked for there's. saleried people dont do didlly.i worked on the line plant 8 pontiac moters, for a few years before i became heavy equipment operator, that to was a hard job but i loved it.both my grandfather, and father weregeneral formen for skilled trades at the old heavy truck plant GMC,formerly knoiwn as truck and bus,now they make pickup trucks, and tore down every reminder of old.being in skilled trades means 40 years before retirement not 30,that is because it was harder to find people that are educated.you guys forget your general formen went to college for 4 years.plus the are allways sending them to product update seminars, and come model change.while hourly is of with pay they are working there butts off to make sure everthing is a success, they did not get no free car.and everyone i ever meet allways has an amusing, and funny story at times how dad would keep people working, and isnt that what it's all about being are brothers keeper?the majority of these posts are shocking and maybe even frightening!

what is the prognosis of those that are retired already and have pensions. Are they going to take a cut if bankruptcy, or is it just those who have not retired yet?

What a bunch of Bull.

The Unions have kept automakers salaries, benefits and now retirement benefits out of line--NO WONDER THE BIG 3 ARE NOW BEGGING FOR HELP FROM THE TAXPAYERS

-----How long did it take the CEOs to realize this was going to happen? DUH!!!!--- too long???

I am on Social Security and pay over

$300 per month for medicare, and suppliments. What does a retired big 3 employee pay?

--Plus, they and their spouse have much

better benefits than an ordinary Senior. I know of someone who had a stroke. The suppliment from one of the big 3

paid for over 6 months in a hospital. WOAH!! with Medicare and most suppliments, the rest of us would be checking into a nursing home long before 6 months.

Just unreal, how intellegent does one need to be

to realize what was and is happening here.

I doubt there will ever be an end to bailouts

until the good ole

USA is bankrupt, which probably isn't too far in the future. Realy Sad!!!
