FedEx's Inhumane Treatment!

In May 1998, A FedEx Manager, Tim Cecil denied me time off to attend my Father's funeral in New York. I did not receive a sympathy card from Tim, and no flowers were sent to my Father's funeral. I specifically asked for time off to grieve my Father or to attend the funeral. With emotional pain and tears in my eyes, I had to grieve my Father, John Henry Holt at work. FedEx says, Tim used "poor judgement" to justify their Discriminatory practices at the Elizabethtown, KY station. This was Deliberate! Tim also denied Jose Deleon time off to attend his StepFather's funeral. Because of my pending lawsuit I was fired on Sept. 25, 2009. I remember Manager, Kevin Hart saying, "Johnnie, I am going to make it short and sweet, you are fired!" This was Wrongful Termination and Retaliation! My work record is 25 years of loyal service, 23 years of Safe Driving and 16 years Perfect Attendance. FedEx is a Cruel, Callous and Defiant company. This is why FedEx needs an Union!!!

I've been a fedex employee for 10yrs now and I have seen numerous changes in our company. If money is the issue, why do we as a company spend so much money on advertising? isnt that what we as employees are for? Nascar, golf, football, basketball, etc- do we really need to spend all this money when you have the best advertisement (us) the employee? just think of the healthcare, raises and bonus incentives that could be used with all this wasteful spending

Fred Smith was an amazing man in his day. He and the people he places in charge each day will do anything to keep FedEx going including screwing you, dear loyal fed ex employee. It is cute that you are so adamantly standing beside your man. Sacrifices are indeed eminent, for all businesses big and small. I assure you that the monies will still be placed in the proper pockets.

Years ago the long timers who brought Federal Express to Memphis from a little hangar in Little Rock and stuck with loyalty like you to the man that held their children that were born as their wives visited the offices were forced out of the company that they considered family. Since then, they have struggled as the 55 year old men and women try to find work that is comparable. They have the work ethic and integrity that the younger generation has no concept of. None.

Laura has a strong point. We have watched as one small business after another compromises its morals and ethics for the almighty dollar. I encourage everyone however to look where their money is spent. Big businesses boom because they are bullies. They have buying power that we give them. The small businesses who treat their clients as people, making decisions based on logic instead of "policies" and somehow find a way to make money have my respect. Hopefully, they won't sell out. Hopefully, we won't either.

I know several employees that work at United Parcel Service. These empolyees have a pension fund as well as a 401k plan. Is Fed-ex also providing their people with a pension fund or are the excuses for not providing their employees w/a 401k match due to the same greed that prompted the wall street bail outs?

We need more leaders like Fred Smith. Leaders that will step forward and make the hard decisions in order to keep everyone employeed.

I will have you know I have been a Fed Ex employee for 19 years... In these many years I have been through many changes with this company. Some I didnt agree with, like buying Kinkos. Buying Kinkos Ill have know meant closing all our BSC facilities intern displacing thousands of our Fed Ex empolyees and allowing people like you to keep their jobs. Im not saying Fed Ex makes all the right moves for everyone, but I will tell you if we hold on to the past and dont move foward and sacrifice now, there will be no Fed Ex....and I know Fred Smith will not end up like Paul Orfala.....

Paul Orfala-era Kinko's used to be a company that really took care of its employees and treated them like family--in turn, the employees were extremely loyal and stayed for years. I was a proud Kinkoid. FedEx and the company that owned Kinko's post Orfala are pure evil. I've heard nothing but bad news from friends who managed to stay, or who were fired when wage schedules changed and they were found to be making too much per hour.
