Actress Patty Duke reprises her role as look-alike cousins Cathy and Patty Lane in the 1960's sitcom The Patty Duke Show in a new commercial encouraging baby boomers to sign up online for Social Security.

Here’s the 1965 show opening.

And a recreation of the show opening in the Social Security Administration’s new ad.

How did they all get so old and I didn't??? ha! Whoever came up with the idea for these commercials deserves a huge bonus. It's so good to see the gang! Of course, not so good that it makes me realize how old I've gotten.

If Patty (Duke) and Cathy Lane strike a sentimental cord with the baby boom generation in Social Security public service announcements, then it shouldn't come as a surprise to find Chubby Checker on the Fed's primere website for senior benefits, www.socialsecurity.gov. Chubby is twisting again like he did last century in SSA's newest campaign that explains a "new twist" in Medicare rules. The commercial is a blast from the past. Patty and Chubby have side by side billing on the site.
