can get her pension and medical AND switch to substitute teaching (still a job), she has made a wise choice. I know school teachers do not get rich, but these kinds of options really don't even EXIST any more in the private sector. THERE, you "deciding" to stay employed may not be possible. Employers are mostly trying hard to dump you overboard because of your age and potential liability to the medical plan.
