I agree totally with Granny! It's time to stop whining.

Stop the crazy Limbaugh lying

Stop the screaming mobs

They can go behind the woodpile

Pity for their sobs.

Listen to me. I'm your granny.

I deserve respect.

If we the people can’t be civil,

might as well defect

In other words, you want to be treated civilly and with respect, but then out of the same breath you are neither respectful or civil. That's called hypocrisy.

Ms Doran, I looked up Vancosin on the Medicare.gov website and it DOES show it as a covered medication. Sometimes the company you are with one year changes their formulary and does not cover it the next year. Maybe that is what has happened.?

It is a tier 4 medication with most companies and therefore has a higher cost share. Because of the cost of the medication you will reach your gap within the second or third month. Because of that, your copays for the first three months will be quite high. After that (if you can afford to pay for the medication during that time) you would hit the catostrophic stage and your cost would drop to less than $200 a month. You should definitely check with an local agent who can help you enroll or your local Department of Aging offices often assist seniors find a plan that works for the medications they take.

I saw on a TV Station that the government intends to take approx. S500 Billion from Social Security and/or Medicare to help pay for the Health Care Reform program, which is also a joke, and supported by our beloved AARP. Yet all Senior Citizens know that they pay almost twice as much for fewer groceries now, utilities have gone up, states are charging more taxes, and cutting other programs. And, of course, Senior Citizens will be exempt from the Swine Flu vaccine. How effective can the decrease of our retiree population be reached otherwise? How much, in total now, has the government taken from Social Security for other purposes and never paid back? Yet we will pay the price. I, for one, would not seek out the swine flue vaccine, since noone actually knows the long term effects and most certainly cannot be assured of its effectiveness. Another great American and WHO Plan started much too late to be of help, and yet the citizens wll all pay the price without necessarily receiving any benefit from it.

The most likely outcome for senior citizens will be death.

Wooden frog, who rudely calls our President Obaba and his goons!

This is a song I wrote for the Raging Grannies to respond to rabble rousers who would rather name call than pose issues and Health Care and other forums.

If you don't know who the Raging Grannies are, maybe you should, look us up on UTube.

Woodpile

Tune: Comin’ through the Rye

Lyrics: Albuquerque Raging Granny Nel

You like private health insurance

I'm for single payer

If we cannot hear each other

Outcomes won't be fair

Stop the crazy Limbaugh lying

Stop the screaming mobs

They can go behind the woodpile

Pity for their sobs.

Listen to me. I'm your granny.

I deserve respect.

If we the people can’t be civil,

might as well defect

We must all learn to be patient.

Change is earnest work.

Democracy is dialog . . .

Not lies gone berserk

I'm so proud of New Mexico!

Since it's me who would appear to be the one you're calling a "Democratic liberal bletherer", I can only point out that your two posts below seem to be inconsistent with each other.

Do not paint seniors with the paint left on your own brush, we are not the seniors of your grandparents genre, we are educated, informed, we vote for our country's best bet, sometimes it is a gamble, like last year's election. The winning horse is still running on hot air." I am a registered "independent" I cross party lines and vote for the person who believes in "for the people, by the people" aspect of government.

Now that you, at age 83, have presumably enjoyed the security of Medicare or VA for the last 18 years AND the rest of your life ---courtesy of liberals---you want to slam single-payer health care for everyone else and go off with the tea-baggers?

Your comment is a precise example of the lack of wisdom in the senior set that I'm griping about.

Perhaps you would have preferred John McCain. Not me. Obama's doing fine except for some of the compromises he is having to make with corporations in order to be elected and function at all.

My being a supporter of a real president is not about kissing anything. That comment alone from you reflects shallowness on the issues.

Where do those fat cats in Washngton shop? I want to shop and live where a o% cost of living exists. I am a senior citizen, each year my cost of living(the roof over my head) is raised 4.5%, my electric bill (includes heat) is off the wall, costs more to DELIVER the electricity than the cost of usage, they must be delivering it via platinum wires. I dress like an Eskimo indoors in winter, and suffer the heat in summer!! This is retirement, my golden years?? And they say there was no rise in the consumer price index, perhaps it is because people can't afford the daily cost of living, no purchasing, no usage could account for the 0%. Just a thought.

Anne Burke of NY 10:40AM August 25, 2009

I am happy to see that you are so brilliant and informed on the elderly of this country. I am eighty-three and a registered democrat. But that will change with the next election. I can not believe what Obama and his goons are doing to this country. He has lied from the start, and never gives a straight answer to any question. His goons are running the banks, automotive industry, and telling them how much they can earn. He wants a single payer health care plan (he said so in 2003. Check the tapes of his speaches). And if he gets it he will run all the health care providers into the ground and have his single payer plan run by some ass in washington. That will give him control over darn near aspect of your life. The rest of you democrats had better wake up and stop kissing his ass and start watching what he is doing, not what he says.
