i do not know any one who got cola in 2009. i have not recieved an increase in SS for 3 years, and in that time my rent has gone up $100.00 per month. i am starting to think they really do want to get "rid" of us.

Only if they do not take any other benefits away like food stamps, insurances increases on medicare ,

I don't understand why people on ss are being punished, people like me who get less than a thousand a month can't afford to live now and wait you want to keep taking away from us why? I worked hard all my life and i didn't ask to become disabled if it was up to me i would still be working, but yet you'll keep giving to higher income people why

I just wanted to say that not everyone on ss get over 1000 month.
I get less then that and live on my own..with a daughter and her child.
I think that COLA is a have to,,..and even the 250
was a GOD send to some.
Raise the amount of food stamps..raise the amount of disability
but lose the welfare and the helping billions with HAITI..
we in the USA deserve more then this stupid war even.
there has to be a way to make it work..oh I know..
dont help the corporations and turn back time on everything
thats needed..low cost everything..guess its all going to get to the point of just letting the GOV. take over our lives to live..wow

It's an outrage. The very thing Obama promised was to help the middle class and seniors and the first thing he actually accomplished was to take money away from us!!!! Hurt us instead of help us.
Guess how many people are on s/s.
Make sense?
This and this alone will stop me from voting him in again.
All my hopes for great change are gone with him. All he's done is focus on the health bill just as Bush only focused on the war.
This is not a one issue country.
Are we ever going to see someone we can look up to and be proud of?
