If the United States Government would put the billions of dollars that was taken out of Social Security to lower the deficit during the Clinton Administration back into the system where it belongs we would'nt be in this mess. That money was your's and mine and no one else should be able to touch it. Again our money bailed the govenment out. It's my understanding that members of Congress don't pay in to the Social Security system as they have there own retirement that the citizens of the United States are paying. Lets put them in the Social Security System and I bet it would be fixed. I am going to retire at age 62 with a reduced benifit and will probabley go ahead and work part time for health insurance. A person doesn't know what tomorrow brings and would like to enjoy life a little and do some things I want to do. I have worked since I was 16 and am now 61, have paid in to the system for 45 years and that is enough. I can't draw full retirement till age 66 years and 3 months.
