States with the Best Medicare Advantage Plans

We have belonged to a Medicare Advantage Plan (using several different providers) over the past 12 years and have been completely satisfied. They didn't mention California but our health plans are so good and cost effective we can't afford to leave the state. I agree, the article left much to be desired so will go into medicare.gov to try and get a list. We are aging and may need to move back east so want to get information. I don't know how long this can last but its been great for us. We live in Riverside County.

so much for your article on states with the best medicare advantage plans. No information actually given on medicare advantage by state, only what percentage of people in a few states have ins with 3 or 4 stars ratings. I was expecting to see an actual list of states with the best medicare advantage plans.

There was a report from CMS today about fraud and abuse in Medicare Advantage plans. The top abusers were not named by name. Who are they and why not reveal them?

Why are $0 premium Medicare Advantage plans not available in EVERY state????

Here is what I have discovered: Medical coverage under Medicare Advantage plans varies greatly from state to state. I want to move, and I have no real ties to any state. I have some preferences but I can't afford to live in NYC or SF. Also, it seems that whenever there is a budget issue, states do the oh-so-Christian thing of cutting services for the sickest and poorest first. (Finding a good worship community is one of my top needs, also -- I am currently the bad guy of America for daring to get sick and not being able to work anymore.) Here is an example: one of my meds, for anxiety, is not covered in Arizona. Some states have very high premiums, and some low premium states are great this year but next year when their new budgets come in, will have cut a lot of coverage items.

From what I have gathered, I do not believe there is any sort of "national clearinghouse" where you can compare plans across state lines. You'd need to compare plans in all fifty states -- you'd go through the same procedure fifty times -- unless you really hate a particular state.

I am sorry, but it appears that is what we have to face. I am going to bookmark this page and since I have all day to sit around at the wall or the computer screen (too sick to work or do anything physically exerting but not sick enough to die) then I will update if I come across something later. I imagine a lot of people read this and the three above posts and have their spirits sink. Perhaps I can make some good of this and find some more information. Perhaps (I used to write software) I could make a webpage that compares plans -- well no, if I could do that, I would go back to work!

Both my husband and I are disabled. In our 60's. We are trying to find states to live in where you can get dental and eye coverage through Medicare. We presently live in Tennessee and dental and eye coverage is not available.

I have a choice of whether to do a Medicare Advantage plan in MN or AZ. I have always been told that the medicare reimbursement in AZ was much higher, but I can't seem to find any statistics. What is the average medicare reimbursement in each state?

Where in the world or what link can give me infor on cost and description of the plan without reading the plan first and then looking at the price. Can't the average person have both on the same page so we can compare voth at the same time?

In Para starting: 'The share of the population'...Fourth line down, it says "with 4 or more starts", I think it should be 4 or more stars

I know, "picky, picky, picky".

I used to be a jewelery engraver. No mistakes or it could cost a lot.
