Excited to see Raleigh-Durham as the number two location nation-wide! It truly is a great area to relocate for retirement, with a strong community and many fun events in the area. Check out our Fonville Morisey blog for information about other amazing things this area has to offer: RTP real estate blog by your local Fonville Morisey Realtors.

As part of a team that markets housing to active adults, I found it interesting that 71% of Minneapolis-St. Paul pre-retirees plan to stay in the area, while only 54% of Baltimore residents think they'll do so.

Earlier this year, when a study projected that more than 50% of Boomers planned to move out of state in retirement, Creating Results cautioned that these preferences vary greatly by individual communities. Ameriprise's results seem to be making that clear!

There is a website that highlights the best 21 places to live or retire to in the U.S. based on having a university, airport, culture, community, range of home prices, moderate weather. They have blogs, video, real time news and weather for each town.
