If my husband 64 and I 65 getting a divorce he says that since I have a retirement of and he has one as well and he is still working 70,000.a year and still saving in a 401K I would still have to divide my retirement with him? He says it community property. Is that correct?

This is true of most people. It's easy to raise your standard of living but we'll do anything to avoid lowering it.

Are you looking to refinance your mortgage? Best way is to contact at least three to five lenders for input on mortgage programs and rates. Also search online for "123 Mortgage Refinance" since refinanced my loan to 3.29% with my OK credit history.

The AARP may provide some cost advantage for insurance, but they virtually dictate to their members a view point that is questionable. I can hardly believe that 56% of boomers don’t plan on downsizing in retirement. The only way I can find this to be true, would be that they have already done it. When I go to the AARP site there is no forum to give any feedback. My feeling is, the AARP is running surveys on an elite group of earners. Someone once told me, that if you want to lie about something spout percentages no one questions percentages because it sounds like an in-depth study.

Everything I read, where people are open to comment, is they will work until they are dead. This is an unacceptable point of view for me. I can’t believe that working at something you hate is God’s plan. I began looking for a way to retire on a limited income 5 years ago and I found a place where I can live near an almost desolate beachfront and do it all on limited savings and social security. I wrote a book about it and maintain a free blog, 12 things I learned while trying to retire in Asia.
