This sounds like a good plan to me. People should be encouraged to save for retirement and if the government can help they should.

A person I know has never worked and is married. Her husband puts the maximum into his work 401K and it is matched .50 on the dollar. Can he open up an IRA his wife or do you have to work to put money into an IRA.
