estamater for 2012 printout

Now that I've had the opportunity to use and review this new SSA estimator tool, the only thing I don’t like about it is that it does not allow you to estimate your taxable earnings per year after 2012. Unlike the similar paper estimate that SSA provided years ago, this tool assumes you'll continue to work and make about the same as you did in 2010 or 2011.

As an example, I’ve already retired from my “day job,” spend my time volunteering and do not plan to work, but do plan on collectiong social security at some point. Being able to add $0 estimated taxable earnings for future years would allow for a more accurate estimate.

Still, it's a very useful tool and I'm glad it's out there to use.

Thanks! I hated the output of the older retirement estimator tool. This latest output is just like the information the SSA used to provide.
