ONE THING THAT PERTURBED ME IS THAT THERE ARE SO MANY INDIVIDUALS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE WHO MAYBE IN LIFE HAS NOT EVEN CONTRIBUTED WITH THE SSS AGENCY WHO ARE COLLECTING MONETARY HELP, AND YET PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO HAS CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH DURING MY 15 YEARS OF WORKING FROM VARIOUS INSTITUTION HAS AND NOW DISABLED/INCAPACITATED DUE MY ILLNESSES HAS BEEN DENIED SEVERAL TIMES. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME OR EXPLAIN WHY? WHEN DO YOU THINK I CAN BENEFIT FROM MY CONTRIBUTIONS WITH THE SOCIAL SECURITY AGENCY, MAY THAT IS WHEN I'AM DEAD.

I am still waiting on my wife's tax statement - I've had mine for 2 weeks. And how we poor overseas people get access to you Social Security online system?

I am unable to sign in on your Social Security line as they don't recognige overseas people. I have been drawing Social Security since I was 70 and am going on 82. One woult thing when starting something new on line, somebody mus think how do the people living out of the States get access to the system? And I have received my tax statement and waiting for my wife's so I can file my income tax?

Would have been much appreciated if the web address for this new SS site would have been included. If they want us to use it, they should PROVIDE it.

Mrs Baily

The fact that u have to use SS to pay for a motgage speaks of the problems facing America today. SS was never intended to be your primary source of retirement income. It was meant as a supplement to your retirement savings. Somewhere along the line an entire nation has forgot to put money away for when they retire. Instead we look to government to take care of us. Living beyond our means has become the new national pastime. We ship our loved ones off to be taken care of by strangers. We're your grandparents shipped off to retirement homes? They didn't exist then because family looked after family. Grandparents watched grandchildren not an anonomous face at a day care. SS, meant to help those less fortunate, has instead torn the fabric of Family in this country. It's amazing to me that a program that has been around for around 60 years has become indespencible to the people of this country.

How can I create an account if I do not live in America but in Bursa Turkey? This is the last address I gave you besides the address of my ex-husband. I do not want any contact with him at that address.

Please advise me of what to do

Sincerely,

Shirley F. Stogner

There should be a CHANGE IN PAYMENTS AMOUNTS TO WOMEN. They worked for years, JUST LIKE MEN and was paid much lower wages than men. Social security has never recognized this fact. Upon drawing SS they have a much lower dollar amount paid to them. (unless she came from a wealthy family and got a good education, usually goverment funded) A woman's SS annual increase should be much higher than a man's so she may have a little better living experience. Personally, I have to make a mortgage and auto payment along with household expenses without other income. This gets very hard on the money I get espencailly since I worked 50 plus years and paid dearly in SS and medicare deductions.
