Online shopping is here to stay. Now there are new online portals that give you cashback as well like aisle19usa.com. It is becoming the next big marketing trend.

I'd totally shop at the online mall if it were laid out like a farmer's market, or perhaps the tavern in Star Wars. I have a strong aversion to the mall as we presently know it, but if shopping could be an adventure involving fantastical creatures and unexpected types of storefronts (eg., a treehouse), I'd be game. It shall be called...MallVentures: For Those Who Hate Shopping (TM).

I love how this invention came from the same guy who created the online divorce. He definitely has a certain market in mind when he dreams up his digitization projects. And, as you pointed out, they do make life easier...

We find ourselves in financial trouble because of our spending habits. Most people who are in financial trouble are the same ones we see spending recklessly in the mall buying things on impulse rather than using bargains websites like Unodeals.com, Pricegraber to save money on the same stuff. Money which could have gone towards retirement, education or everyday necessities.

As I was reading this story, it occurred to me that although I go to malls fairly often, my wife buys things (Virtually always on sale). I don't buy much of anything. We get a dinner and a movie (it's the closest theater, which is handy) more often than making any purchase that will be delivered by UPS.

I honestly can't remember the last time I actually bought a take-it-home item from a mall. That would mean I'm most definitely not int eh demographic these guys are shooting for. But at the same time, the 'Facebook' crowd goes to the mall a lot as well but I usually don't see a lot of purchases from them, either. Oh, well, like so many things in WebWorld, this virtualshopping.com thing may just be another fast-fading fad.

With a little luck, malls become too energy-inefficient to run.

Same goods go to the web. Half as many shoppers buy half as much of that (mall) stuff, and a lot of Americans get out of debt they never needed. I've known for 30 years that most everything in a mall is overpriced unless it's on less-than-50% clearance. Why doesn't everyone know that? It's mostly clothing made in other low-wage countries, for heaven's sakes.
