we should heavily tax pot distribution so we can erase our deficit in California[the richest state in the country with the most idiotic amount of debt,I still don't understand] and soon have an enormous amount of money to work on education, roads,& other programs that really matter.

Pot should be decriminalized if not legalized. The millions of taxpayers dollars spent each year to deamonize otherwise law abiding productive citizens is rediculous. President Nixon commisioned a study on pot which found that the penalties for pot possesion were to harsh and that decriminalization was the best way to go forward. He obviously ignored this report. Pot used for medical reasons is now allowed in several states and helps many people suffering from cancer, aids, multiple serosis, parkinsons and many oyher ailments. There has never been a death attributed to an overdoae of Marijuana. Having pot listed as a schedule 1 drug along with heroin and cocaine is absurd.

We need less laws making things legal or illegal. Blue laws are for bigots. Arresting someone for smoking a little pot should be a hate crime if anything.

Any blue law is a group of people (usually fevered by religious beliefs) forcing there will upon others.

America needs to return to the constitution and let people pursue happiness.

Why is it that so many people still live in a time-warp where "pot" will leads to other drugs, make you lazy, and drown your baby in a bath tub?

Pot has a bad rap that it never deserved in the first place. Current studies in the UK rate alcohol much higher on the danger list the marijuana because of what it does to your body...forgetting about DWI deaths. If we where to rate alcohol now as a drug with current knowledge and measures it would be ILLEGAL.

Please start reading up on the truth and uses of this drug other then to "get stoned". Not that I think just getting stoned is such a bad thing, just like getting drunk isnt such a bad thing as long as there are limitations (not driving, etc).

Now legalizing marijuana is a huge step in our anal, bury your head in the sand, society. It would take much work and time. Would it make the government money? No question.
