I agree with the comment above! Barter is really is Smarter! A site I have had a lot of success with is Tradeaway.com. I found it by Googleing "barter online" and it popped up first. Its a bit different from other barter sites because it does multi-way trades, (other sites are just 1 on 1 trades. basically, I do not have to want exactly what this other person has, as long as there is a full cycle of offers, everyone wins, I was once involved in a 6-way trade!) Also, I noticed a lot of high value items on this site. We are not just dealing with DVDs and books here, but with Real Estate and yachts! Good luck fellow barterers!

I think bartering is the way to go during these tough economic times. There is this cool website called FavorPals, www.favorpals.org, where one can barter services for services or items. The goal of this site is to promote "a world without money". It is safe and secure and very easy to use. I have had good experiences using it. What is even more wonderful about it is that it is a site only dedicated to bartering and there are no fees or anything of the sort. It's pretty much a 21st century twist on the ancient practice of bartering.
