Last week we asked readers what family travel bargains they have discovered lately and could recommend to others. Here are some of the replies:

A. Whatever kind of trip you are looking for, you can find discounts the very least, you should be able to get a free upgrade or free nights and tickets to local attractions are also possible, but you have to ask the resort or cruise line for the extra perks. Also, if you can be spontaneous, there are amazing last-minute deals at resorts and on cruises. Check out They specifically focus on deals on hotels, vacation packages, cruises, etc. A great resource...

A. I saw a great deal recently that Disney Cruises are offering: kids 12 and under are able to go on the cruise for 50 percent off. The deal is until May 14 I believe, but double check to make sure. There are also some pretty good deals out there for spring skiing...Steamboat, Colo., has Kids Ski Free for kids who are 12 and under.

A. My husband and I have booked a seven-day cruise to the Western Caribbean on Holland America. The prices are fantastic right now--and by booking a cruise, you know exactly how much the trip will cost. Plus, they are giving room upgrades, so we can stay in an outside cabin at a reduced rate. Also, my daughter and son-in-law are taking the kids to Disney. They are offering great discounts now on hotels and park tickets.
