Obama stated that he would not take money from the poor, middle class, andpeople suffering but that is Just what he is doing, the cost of living increase does not even get families up to date year to year and now they are taking that money away from the Aged and Disabled Veterans, just the 2 groups that need the money most. Over the years the COLA has ammounted to 50 - 100 a month increase. that is 600 to 1200 dollars a year, not a month but a YEAR, now 57 million times 250 dollars is about 14,225,000, and 1200 times 57 million is about 684 million. Subject 14 million from 684 million and Obama just ripped off 670 million to add to his healthcare plan. This is how the government always juggles the books to keep useless wars going on. The fact is that in 8 years Bush spent 4 trillion dollars on Iraq. Pull the troops from Afganistan and use the next 4 trillion for REAL HEALTHCARE instead of useing Afganistan as a launchpad to Invade Iran which is what it is all about. But stop scraping pennies from the poor.

Being a disabled veteran and having older parents who live on Social Security I am greatly appalled that the Government couldn't approve an increase of at least 3.0%. Seniors have seen their 401Ks tank to less than 50% of what it was three years ago and the cost of health care has nearly doubled since that time.

It is time that our Government give back to those who worked and served through at least three wars, one conflict and a miriad of smaller ones. They kept the faith that their Social Security would provide for their needs in their moon light years. We need are seniors and much as they need us and our government needs to stop giving away our resources to countries and assist the citizens of our great country.

When you have a fixed income of less than 1000 dollars a month and you have to pay 200.00 a month for medicaid how do they expect you to live and eat?

lee of MO 9:46PM November 09, 2009

If our economy is so bad then why does the federal government waste billions on building rockets to go to the moon and for what reason? These are pretty expensive toys for the big boys! While we can only afford Tonka toys.

Also on the health issue, why must americans who are accepted for ssi or ssa wait two years on medicare when the US goes to other countries and Those people get their medical care for FREE! Keep our money in america where it belongs and help OUR own People!

Why don't the Senate And The Congress take a Freeze on there wages also they made the senior take a freeze on the COLA.

We senior sure dident get a $5000.00 raise like they did for them self.

And Obama ZARS got a raise also.
