I am so sick of Congress letting the richest 2 percent of our citizens, pay below what they should. Just because they pay into the system, does not mean they should reap so much. I pay into state funds that provide food stamps, etc. to the poor, but I make too much to get food stamps. The rich should have limits on income (which they shield anyway and will still quality when they should not...) amounts that make them pay for their own health costs.

ALL income should be taxed for FICA not just up to 90,000 dollars. They got rich from being American, let them pay their share. I have not seen all this job growth a decade of Bush tax cuts was supposed to provide. Let those expire.

I have to agree with all the statements given here. I realized long time ago, the 'American Dream' is only a dream to us Americans because everyone else who is "illegal", gains the means for their happiness from OUR government, while the TRUE citizens get put on the back burner to wonder about their future, their jobs, their families, and etc. America has been too open and willing to help others instead of their own. Get the board out of your own eye before you try to help others. It's a shame the way our government treats it's own people. Sometimes I'm not so proud to be an American ... and who is there to blame for this? Our government.

Congress is doing nothing to make sure that illegals don't get free medical care. In fact to change laws or uphold the ones we have, they are just running away from it all. And they should have started making our borders tight as a drum many eons ago. I say there never should be free medical care and free education and going to the front of the line, if they are illegal. They sure know how to work the system, illegal or not. Go ahead - hate me....it's true.

Well if they get rid of all the immigrants who living here illegally and dont pay for medical costs, maybe that will help us not pay so much. Let each country take care of their own!! I am not prejudice but this country can not keeping assisting others who dont belong we just keeping digging a bigger hole for ourselves!!

I have the original Medicare (not an "advantage" plan). I paid into it (Part A - for hospitals) all my working life. To cover doctor fees, I pay close to $100 for Medicare Part B coverage. I also pay close to $100 for a "Medigap" policy. Now retired and on a fixed income, I chose NOT to buy a Part D (medicine) policy. Paying out $200/mo. is about all I can do. Came time for a gynocologist. Started calling around. Half of those called said they no longer take Medicare! Again, the middle class is paddling the ship but looks like our destination is taking us in a direction we never thought would happen. Medicare and a Medigap policy used to be considered great medical coverage. These docs are jumping ship and leaving us without a paddle. Try calling some doctors and asking them if they take Medicare. As of Jan. 1, 2010, many are not. It's getting scary out here.

Planprescribers.com takes your info and sends it to agents who have paid for sales leads. If you fill in the info requeste on the web site you have given permission to get calls from insuranc agents - maybe 3 or maybe 10 will call you.

Medicare.gov is the best site to compare plans in your area.

For objective help in deciding on the best Medicare and Prescription Drug Plan for you, I recommend http://www.PlanPrescriber.com. You can either enter your zip code and find plans in your area, or enter the plan you currently have and compare it to others available in your area. I have been using this search tool for several years and find it helpful in making my Medicare choice each year. I also find the customer service representatives very knowledgeable and helpful. It is refreshing to know that there are still companies that advocate for the customer!

There is an abundance of free advice on making the Medicare decision. Beware of these internet sites. If they are selling insurance or display an array of insurance advertising, then the web site is not there to help you, only to make money. I have found only a handful of sites that will give you objective advice and provide a financial guide to making the Medicare decision that is correct for you. Answers to the big money questions are avoided. They repeat the same information that can be found on Medicare.gov.
