My mom moved out of NJ on Oct 2009. She informed Medicare Advantage by phone on Dec 2009. My dad informed CMS of his change of address. CMS accepted the change and passed the info to BCBSNJ no longer discounting money from his SS check. To this day and after many call and letters BCBSNJ claims that my mom did not terminate during enrollment period! She cannot aford another plan since BCBSNJ keeps her money budgeted for Medicare Advantage. Who can we turn to? We know the healthcare law, who will enforce it?

You can have her disenroll from Secure Horizons if you want. Call 1-800-MEDICARE and they will go over it with you. She can go back to Original Medicare and a Part D plan.

My mom has Secure Horizons Health Insurance, therefore she has to have a referral everytime she sees her heart doctor. In the past, that has never been a problem. Now Secure Horizon has "tightened their belts" regarding referrals. I always thought Secure Horizon was a part of medicare, but now I know differently. My mom desperately needs to see her heart doctor. She has a pacemaker and she needs it checked for a new battery. The end of the battery life is approaching and we need help. Her primary care doctor said we need to get her on Medicare ASAP. We have passed open enrollment. Where can I get some help immediately. Thanks.
