explain that. It is the degree which and older person applies and

remains open to new ideas that determines their productivity.

I am always picking the younger guys brains to see if I can gain a corelation between truths that I have experienced and theory that they learned in school. Sotware development patterns are a good example. They have names now for techniques that I discovered for myself.

It is true that creatvity occurs earlier in one's lifetime. Poetry, music, science, and arts bloom early in one's life. However, if one does not produce quality work in these fields early on, it is very rare they would do so later. What they do in later life is "add maturity to their work" which supplants creativity. Nobel laureats tend to do their creative work in their late twenties, thirties, and early foties. Later on they polish what was done earlier. It is very rare if some scientist has not done any significant work early on that he will produce work in his/her fifties and beyond that will fetch a Nobel prize. Even in the arts the older folks add maturity, poignancy, and some relish. They need reputation from earlier work to stand on and gather further fame.
