Retired Workers Will Be Wooed to Return

This kind of advice reminds me of an article in WSJ in the 90's that described how corporate presidents were making speeches talking up the value of liberal arts education over specialist mba degrees, but then upon investigation it turned out that people with liberal arts degrees weren't really being hired. The reporters went to the personnel officers of the companies who told them that the presidents could talk all the bs they want, we're still sticking to profile when it comes to what we do.

So I wonder when it comes to the nitty-gritty whether school systems are really going to hire senior teachers who are eligible for the highest pay scale, or will they just leave a position open until the cheap fresh-faced new college grad comes along? Same thing with the trades? Will older workers be paid commensurate with their experience, or will they be ignored by everyone except McDonald's and Walmart? We'll see what the personnel office really does with this when hiring resumes...
