Assuming every Boomer has 20-30 years left after Age 65 it makes sense tackle some Big project or Dream instead of wasting your time on an Ocean Liner, on the beach or playing gold when the outside Temp. is 100 deg. F.

I hear that the first USA boomer retired at age 62. If this is the case for many other Boomers then you will probably see a revolution in the Boomer retirement age.

Boomers have less saved for retirement & are rethinking how & where to retire. They can still have fun and play hard. Lake Weir Living (LWL) in Central Florida has evolved the active adult/retirement lifestyle concept to answer the needs of today's Boomers. LWL, is a "Toy-Friendly" Community (8 miles from The Villages & 55 miles to Orlando), for Boomers frustrated with oppressive HOA restrictions & fees. New custom-homes from the $90s with no HOA and toy-fitted garages for "Toys" such as boats, motorcycles, RVs, and more. Visit their Blog for videos of new homes:

The main reason most Baby Boomers can't afford retirement is because of years of irresponsible (Republican) economic policies that led to the elimination of fixed return pensions, as well as years of irresponsible (Republican) trade policies that led to millions of once good-paying manufacturing jobs being outsourced to other countries, notably Communist China.

Ironic isn't it, that the Republican party has done so much to support Communism in how they've helped China so much?

The straw that broke the camel's back was the Republican supported financial deregulation that led to country's current economic collapse and recession. While the wave of people turning 65 next year do indeed have 20 to 30 years of life left ahead of them, most of them are no longer able to be very productive, especially those who have worked in physical labor when they were younger.

America, you're screwed!

A major reason many Baby Boomers feel that they can't afford retirement is because their 401(k) and other accounts were drained with the stock market plummeting or they drained their accounts themselves.
