How Age Friendly is Your Community?

As a leading expert in the field of aging and aging in home, I'm always happy to see articles focused on the ideas of community and supporting the entire system of care providers. The face of aging is, indeed, changing. In addition to turning 65 and becoming "senior" citizens themselves, a huge percentage of these boomers will ALSO be caring for their parents and other aging relatives. Developing community and government-based initiatives to support everyone involved is a vital piece of having a society and a world that provides the appropriate support to what will be come a larger and larger demographic of our world.

Readers can hear about many of these initiatives through a series of expert interviews I host for eCareDiary on the blog page of http://eCareDiary.com -- feedback and suggestions for both speakers and specific topics are always welcomed. Also, having a portal to create a community around EACH patient is also vital, even when their loved ones are far away - we also provide this, free of cost, at http://bit.ly/eCareDiary. Thank you for an informative article which will help inform the growing awareness of aging in place in our community.
