What metro areas in the U.S. have the greatest number of senior villages?
Where are the most highly rated villages?

I live in a small communtiy between 4 small town and out laying areas there are fewer than 1000 people of these at least 100 are seniors. I am on the senior center board and all care center board. We did a feasiblity study and it shows that we don't have enough seniors that can stay in the valley year around to support an assisted living or nursing home . This looks like something we might be able to make work. We are 50 miles from the nearest hospital and over the state line and 80 miles from a large town in Wyoming. We do have 2 senior centers, a medical clinic, 4 post offices, a musuem, a small grocery store , one gas station, 2 motels, 2 small cafe's, a preschool,1 liquor store . There is not a lot to help seniors stay in the valley.

Thanks for this great article on the village movement. We were happy to learn last year that there is already a village in our neighborhood that has resources to help us as we age in place and as caregivers to my elderly father who lived nearby.
