Immigration Reform: A Key Retirement Issue

We need immigration reform. I agree with the posting earlier. It will ease the issue with the social security costs and bring them out of the shadows. If we sent all the undocumented workers home, I bet you all the americans who are out of work are not going to go running to the fast food restaurants or work in the fields doing hard labor just because they are out of work. The illegal workers that are here are doing jobs that others do not want to do. Most immigrants are good people just looking for a better life for their family. I vote to give them a chance.

True Immigration reform is what the country needs, a legalization program with fines for those who are undocumented. Why legalization?because it is in our best interest to whor are the twelve million people that are living in our midst, get them Identified so that they can pay their share in the system.Create a system where people are force to register with the government once the are here to work, create a way to make it easy for people to self petion. It will help our economy grow and makeUnited States More prosperous.

Unemployment is high because there are more workers than jobs. Immigration is making it worse. Labor should be expensive. People should be valuable.

I hope e-verify and employer sanctions force employers to turn to legal U.S. workers even if they have to increase the wages to compete for legal workers.

Some of the richest people in the U.S., such as the Hiltons and Prtiskers are rich because they pay illegal hotel workers very low wages.

The fact is that the demographics stated in this article don't lie. We have the single largest age demographic in our history reach the times in their life when they will need long term care. Take whatever stand you want on immigration. Those of us with aging loved ones are going to become their caregivers in some form or fashion. As families, we need to begin to plan for our loved ones long term care and get ourselves trained to prepare for the requirements of the role. That includes learning to deal with the emotional, physical and financial stress that all family caregivers will face.

House Republicans (Smith, King and Gallegly most notably) are currently pursuing policies such as mandatory E-verify without legalization of the illegal immigrants who are here. The purpose is to economically suffocate the illegal immigrants and make them self-deport.

How will that help farmers, the home care industry, cleaning businesses, the hospitality industry etc?

We need more forward thinking young white males talking the talk. The U.S. Congress had a chance to pass The DREAM Act last year and failed, because Republican voted against the legislation lead by Senator John McCain, who was for it before he was against it.

We need more legal immigration and we need comprehensive immigration reform to get our economy back on track. Until that happens wages will continue to spiral downward because of people working under the table in a cash economy.

ANOTHER REASON AS TO WHY WE NEED IMMIGRATION REFORM! YOU ARE HEARING THIS FROM A 32/WHITE MALE! THE SOONER THIS PASSES, THE FASTER OUR ECONOMY BOUNCES BACK!
