I love how Republican voters are still under the delusion that the Democratic Party spends more than the Republicans. http://zfacts.com/p/318.html

Two consecutive years without a COLA is all it's been so where does the author get three years from? Writers should get their information from reliable sources and stop propagating misinformation.

On the other hand, you can't blame the lack of increases on the party as Republicrats and Demopublicans are all the same these days.

If those "horrible Republican" did not worry about spending there would be no money left to pay Social Security payments and provide Medicare coverage since the other party is all about spending.

The Fat cats Republican in Wasington,D C. should be ashamed of the self for not voting for increases in Social Security for 2009 ans 2010 when our cost of living has increased at least 10% They are throwing the elderly in the streets in every state of the U.S. I hope next year at election time that every elderly person in this country remembers when they vote. What the Republican did for the elderly and throw everyone of them out of office and elect new official that are concerned about the elderly suffering in this Country. While the present Republican are lineing there pockets with our money.I'm a Independent registered vote at present

Humana does not believe in a small increase in premiums. Their Medicare Humana Choice PPO increased from $56 to $86 per month with an increase in out of pocket expenses. A 60% increase with no additional benefits.

cannot find a definitive figure for 2012 Medicare rates for Sr. and others who are already in that plan??

Why does congress have an automatic pay increase adn senior citizens didnt receive an automatic pay increase..cost have gone up for seniors as well as the congress and working citizens of the U S A ...? food prices have increase 10%, gas has increased over 20%...and other essentials have increase ,,all government taxes(property taxes) .when they increase the taxes have a domino effect on all commodities ...senior citizens need a increase of at least 7/8 % to cope with inflation in the U S A ......seniors have paid for a huge number of years and deserve the increase along with congress and all U S A citizens...

These insurance company's and drug, and pharmacy's don't want to help people, they just want to make billions of dollars at patient's and people';s expence, there is so much greed and taking advantage of people, i wish there was a way to not let that happen.

Somehow the legislators, and president needs to stop these outrageous prices, as well as outrageous hospital bills. something needs to be done about their rising prices. all the time.

Washington needs to stop voting theirselves a raise at our expense, talk about democracy, how is that democracy?

They could also stop spending money protecting endangered species that doesn't help us stay alive.

They need to be saving and putting back into soc. sec. money they took from.

There is so much wasteful spending up there, and buying people off your pathetic, u can't just blame the president he can't do anything without you. So u want us to tighten your belts well how about starting withyourselves, as an example. we have no more to give. Thank you

If we look at some of the wasteful spending, we'll be lucky to get anything:

1. Incredibly, Washington is spending $2.6 million training Chinese prostitutes to drink more responsibly on the job. This is the kind of wasteful spending that President Obama and Congress have stubbornly refused to cut. 2. Congress recently gave Alaska Airlines $500 thousand dollars to paint a picture of the Chinook salmon on one of their Boeing 737’s—and we sure hope the paint job was good! Congress must start cutting this kind of wasteful spending. Our nation is on the brink of a financial disaster, and we cannot afford pet projects that spend taxpayer money this way. 3. Federal employees cost taxpayers $146 million each year when they upgrade to business class flights. The Government Accountability Office found that more than half of these upgrades were not properly authorized. The rest of us have to fly coach and live on a budget—it’s time our government does the same. 4. The government has spent $3 billion to re-sand our nation’s beaches. Advocates claim this prevents erosion and keeps the beaches attractive to tourists. But the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the sand does nothing to prevent erosion—and this sand gets swept out to sea just as easily as existing sand! Regardless . . . taxpayers have shoveled out $3 billion for this project. 5. Members of Congress have spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars supplying their offices and staff with Personalized calendars, a Liz Claiborne cellphone pouch and New luxury Lexus hybrid sedans—not to mention the popcorn machines, plasma televisions, DVD equipment, ionic air fresheners, camcorders, and signature machines. Do you find it interesting that they can’t find items to cut?
