Ways to Save During Medicare Open Enrollment

I'm glad to hear that Medicare premiums haven't gone up, because mine more than doubled. It seems I am rich because I make more than $85,001 per year (and pay $32,000 a year in rent in NYC for a 1 bedroom apartment), so I pay a premium of $99 for part B and $25 for part D. Last year I paid around $40 over minimum for part B and $12 for part D. With the COLA and another year of work to add to my Social Security, I will still get less in 2012 than I got in 2011. I believe in income adjustments for benefits and costs, but it should be tied to the cost of living. $85,000 in New York City isn't what it is in Atlanta (where I will soon be moving).

I am 71 yrs, and raising 2 grandsons all byself. i get $597.00, each child gets $97.00 for a total of $791.00 .Because my 2 grandsons were in the states system, I had to come forward and adopt them. I tried every thing to get extra money. Now if the above programs are put in force, what's is that going to do to the rest of us grandmothers and there are almost half of us in this world.

So WHERE are the 'Ways to Save Money" touted in the article's title?? This is nothing more than a rehash of countless other articles and it adds nothing. Authors like this get paid for such nonesense (and then get to collect their own SS at some point on MY contributions - let's hope the system IS broke by then...)

Come on Goverment: for the people by the people. We may be getting older but we are the ones who are the people who pay for your jobes.

This is one of the most useless articles I've ever had the displeasure of reading.
