Wow! This is a sobering thought. When the economy is tough, the state reduces services. When the economy is good, people leave the field. It is a lose-lose situation for the extreme elderly or disabled. This is a fascinating study which gives much to think about. Our society writes off the elderly instead of learning from their wisdom and treasuring them enough to provide for their needs.
