Morning headlines: "High gas prices hobble cities nationwide"

Now they're bellyaching about not having money they need to run public services!

Compromising our public safety, "The El Paso County Sheriff's Department in southeastern Colorado has ENDED car patrols of its 2,000-square-mile jurisdiction. One Ohio sheriff is putting his deputies into GOLF CARTS."

Great, the gov't blows a TRILLION DOLLARS on their war on drug disorder then does NOT have money for public safety so they have sheriffs riding around in GOLF CARTS!

Bush is sending $1.5 BILLION to Mexico to "fight drug cartels" who make a TRILLION tax free dollars every year. Instead of giving the $1.5bln to OUR police so they DON'T have to ride around in GOLF CARTS to go after criminals.

"In California, lawmakers are struggling to close a $15.2-billion deficit."

Is it any wonder why they have a $15.2-billion deficit when they blow BILLIONS to have "law enforcement" stumble around in forests looking for naturally growing marijuana?

They should take the same money they blow on their "war on drug disorder" and pay the deficit! Maybe upgrade their police force OUT of GOLF CARTS - that would be a big improvement.

Maybe that way they would not have to use GOLF CARTS to chase rich gangs members.

What kind of MORONS run this country, anyway? They should all be FIRED.

The Supreme Court's landmark ruling on gun ownership last week OK'd continued gun ownership in the US.

But....... there were nearly 31,000 firearm DEATHS in 2005. Get this: 55 percent were suicides!

Marijuana killed ZERO people EVER.

Guns killed 31,000 people in 2005.

Yet, the gov't gives its blessing for people to possess guns legally and KILL themselves............ yet the gov't keeps marijuana illegal!

LMAO

What kind of MORONS run this country, anyway?

This makes no sense! If you are doing something illegal, the last thing you want is anybody looking into your business.

A foreclosed house or an empty house could be visited at any time. A house where the mortgage is being paid would be much more secure and the cost of paying the mortgage is negligible compared to the profits to be made from a grow house.

Our Govt also prohibited marijuana,in 1972 the Ledain commision studied the plant's benefits, and found it should be legalised and taxed The govt. ignored the results. In 2001 they were forced ,through the courts to make marijuana available for medical purposes.I have arthritis and degenerative disc disease ,even so it took me till mar.07 to qualify due to the unreasonable demand to have 2 specialists to confirm I was in need of the medicine.I was authorised 9gm,per day.Health Canada allows you 5 plants/per 1 gm. perscription per day ,this formula allows me to grow 44 plants. With todays gas prices($6/gal)everyone is under a lot of stress.A lot of states are recognizing the need for medicinal pot.I am writing this note to show we are winning the war, keep up the pressure on lying politicians,we are almost there. IT'S TIME TO REMOVE ALL THE POLITICIANS THAT PROMOTE PROHIBITION.

HOW MANY MORE LIVES HAVE TO BE NEEDLESSLY DEVASTATED OR LOST?

PROHIBITED DRUGS ARE WAY EASIER FOR KIDS TO GET THAN REGULATED DRUGS!

PROHIBITION NEVER WORKS IT JUST CAUSES CRIME & VIOLENCE.

The USA spends $69 billion a year on the drug war, builds 900 new prison beds and hires 150 more correction officers every two weeks, arrests someone on a drug charge every 17 seconds, jails more people than any nation and has killed over 100,000 citizens in the drug war.

In 1914 when there were NO PROHIBITED DRUGS 1.3% of our population was addicted to drugs, TODAY 1.3% of our population is STILL ADDICTED TO DRUGS BUT THERE’S WAY MORE CRIME AND VIOLENCE BECAUSE OF THE HUGE PROFITS PROHIBITION GENERATES. DRUGS TODAY ARE MORE POTENT, MORE READILY AVAILABLE AND LESS EXPENSIVE THAN THEY WERE IN THE EARLY 70’S WHEN RICHARD NIXON STARTED THE WAR ON DRUGS.

Everyone needs to know about “Jury Nullification”. You can learn more here: http://fija.org If you are called for jury duty and you don’t agree with the law the person is charged with, you have the right to vote NOT GUILTY, NO MATTER WHAT EVIDENCE IS PRODUCED. Jurors implementing this right in ALL NON-VIOLENT drug cases will shut down the ridiculous laws of prohibition. One juror in each case is all it takes. The bottom line is a juror has the RIGHT to JUDGE not only the accused person but the LAW the person is accused of breaking. Don’t be intimidated stick to your position.

There’s only been one drug success story in history, tobacco, BY FAR THE MOST DEADLY and one of the MOST ADDICTIVE drugs. Almost half the users quit because of REGULATION, ACCURATE INFORMATION AND MEDICAL TREATMENT. No one went to jail and no one got killed.

The right; to freedom of religion, free speech, a free press, to keep and bear arms, to be secure in your person, house, papers and effects against unreasonable search and seizure, to life, liberty and property, to be protected from having your property taken by the government without due process of law and without just compensation, to confront the witnesses against you, to be protected from excessive bail, excessive fines, cruel and unusual punishment, to vote and many others have been denied to millions of Americans in the name of the drug war.

Where the gov't is making its HUGE mistake is in its approach to its "war on drug disorder."

In war, when the objective of the "enemy" (perceived by the goofy gov't to be the cartels and the drug users but mostly the rich, powerful, influential cartels [whom, by the way the gov't has MADE this way due its prohibition policy) is identical with YOUR ("your" being the goofy gov't in this case) stated mission, utter failure of the campaign is the result.

In this instance, the goals and objectives of the cartels and of the gov't are the same: Keep drugs in prohibition status.

For the cartels, violent gangs and drug dealers it is a trillion-dollar yearly windfall - tax free money.

For the goofy gov't...? Well, it is certainly not their mission to create a "healthy society." That is, not when you have ZERO deaths caused by prohibition marijuana, and 3175 people killed DAILY by substances and procedures the gov't gives its full blessing and legalization to.

Otherwise, its only goal seems to be to send half-baked "messages" to its fantasy group of "teens" who in reality get ANY AND ALL of the prohibition drugs they want ANYWAY at ANY time - UNREGULATED.

No, to actually have any chance to WIN a war, you have to make sure your goal and the goal of your enemy is NOT the same goal.

Then you have a chance to begin to win.

Re-legalize. Re-regulate.

OVER 100,000 people killed by legal PHARMACEUTICALS (yet the gov't allows PHARMACEUTICALS to be legal).

At these numbers, by comparison marijuana is considered HEALTHY to consume.

A Google search reveals the following statistics for U.S. citizens:

300,000 people killed by OBESITY (yet the gov't allows junk foods to be legally sold).

100,000 people killed by ALCOHOL (yet the gov't allows alcohol to be legally sold).

434,000 people killed by TOBACCO (yet the gov't allows tobacco to be legally sold).

225,000 people killed from iatrogenic causes (by DOCTORS) - yet the gov't allows doctors/hospitals to be legal.

OVER 100,000 people killed by legal PHARMACEUTICALS (yet the gov't allows doctors/hospitals to be legal).

The hair brained "conservative" politicians resting on their shiny desk seats claim they keep drugs illegal because they do NOT want to create an unhealthy society.

Marijuana kills ZERO people annually. Marijuana kills ZERO people daily.

3175 people killed in the U.S. DAILY by LEGAL substances vs 0 killed by marijuana (an illegal substance).

And, they call THIS a "healthy society"?

Be responsible. Re-legalize Re-regulate.
