Try www.criminaltracking.com for this. They even have a free search that lets you see how many there are in your neighborhod. And its a real service as I have it. Just some FYI.

Yes, I agree. That site is bad. The numbers change everytime I hit refresh and what sems to be legit data is real old...

I ran a couple of queries - one of a serial killer (deceased) and another for local sex offenders that I knew because of a state web site.

In the serial killer case - it got no hits.

In the sex offender search, it got one hit when the State site showed 4.

so I'm thinking that I'd like to have a little more toasty feeling about the information being complete and reliable.

So.. the folks reporting on this - are they doing a check with the police... and then comparing that list with what this tool generates?

It would be a good thing to do.
