my daughter and her disabled husband had a baby. one week old today. anyway they rent a one bedroom apartment in disabled housing here in knoxville, tn 37917. (morningside garden apartments) they were told it was a fire hazard to have a one week old newborn baby in a one bedroom apartment in disabled hud housing, also they were given 2 months to find another place to live, is this legal and if not, how long can they stay in that apartment with their newborn baby girl.

Dear President Obama. I am a 41 year old mother of two whos husband walked out on us when I was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. My husband left in October and I called the mortgage company to see if there was anything they could do to help us. I was told I needed to fill out a loan modification packet. I did the entire loan modification packet and have been sitting and waiting. Now I am almost six months into the waiting game and they are going to forclose on my home. I do not understand. I have paid my mortgage on time every month for 6 years and now due to unforeseen circumstances they will not work with me they are just going to take it away. It breaks my heart that my children have to go through this. Is there really help with a loan modification?

My credit union gave me a 31% DTI home modification (they are not fannie or freddie owned). The credit union owns my mortgage. The thing is they only gave me a six month modification with a skip payment for the first month. I asked about the five year modification with the incentives to borrowers and lenders and I was told they cannot participate in that with the government, that the government is not working with credit union owned mortgages. They said they gave me the modifiction to help me and I can revisit an extension in six months. Is it true that they cannot sign an agreement with the Treasury Department for the full five year program? I am from Massachusetts.

I want to know why the loan modification process does not apply to individuals struggling to make payments on mobile homes. They also need a place to live. My understanding is that if my mobile home is not worth 50 thousand or more dollars, the loan modification process does not apply.
