I have a house and land in Texas. The house and 5 acres are mortgaged with a Countrywide loan. The balance of the land is not part of the loan, but, yet, Countrywide is impounding for those property taxes, also. I have yet to get Countrywide to correct this.

My experience with Countrywide has been so negative, both as a Realtor and a customer, that I can only applaud B of A's decision. I was shocked to find the website devoted just to consumer complaints about this company, their "Mafia Don" boss, Anthony Mozillo, and the heartbreaking effect their dishonest policies have had on so many people's lives. One can only hope that the change of name will reflect more than just putting lipstick on the proverbial pig. I hope they will make every effort to clean up their mortgage business and make it respectable again.
